“Sustainable design occurs when form establishes a personal connection, making us care about the object, furniture, or building.”

— Aga Blonska

Aga Blonska

Aga Blonska (b. 1987, Poznań, Poland) is an architect and multidisciplinary designer based in Amsterdam. Her practice spans sculpture, digital fabrication, and installation, integrating neuroscience, machine learning, and advanced material research. Working at the intersection of emotional cognition, circular design, and technological innovation, Blonska explores the role of human perception in shaping form. Her works employ 3D-printed biomaterials, EEG signals, and computational design to translate subjective emotional states into sculptural language.

She is best known for CoWave, an experimental platform that transforms brainwave data into AI-generated wall sculptures, and New Dawn, a biodegradable lighting system made from polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), exploring cycles of decay and renewal. Her ongoing series Seeds of Renewal combines tree-root-based biocomposites with emotional design, presenting furniture and art objects as interfaces between the organic and the algorithmic. Across all works, Blonska repositions the designer as an emotional mediator, proposing new futures for sustainable and affective making.

Blonska received her MSc in Architecture from the University of Arts in Poznań and pursued additional studies in space architecture and robotics in Zurich and Barcelona. She is the founder of Aga Blonska Studio and CEO of CoWave. Her work has been exhibited at major international events, including Milan Design Week, Dutch Design Week, Dubai Design Week, and GLUE Amsterdam, with earlier presentations at Pavilion Wola (Poznań), Palazzo Isimbardi (Milan), and Hutspot (Eindhoven).
